Accounting Manager - 5 Years Experience a PLUS!
Overview:
We are currently seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team. As the Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, managing budgets, and providing strategic financial guidance to the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, exceptional analytical skills, and a proven track record.
Responsibilities:
Accounting Manager - Financial Reporting and Analysis:
· Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
· Conduct financial analysis and provide insightful reports on key financial metrics to support decision-making processes.
· Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
· Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulations, and internal policies.
Accounting Manager - Budgeting and Forecasting:
· Develop annual operating budgets in collaboration with senior management, department heads, and stakeholders.
· Monitor budget performance, analyze variances, and provide recommendations for cost control and revenue enhancement.
· Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts, considering market trends, business goals, and operational factors.
Accounting Manager - General Ledger and Financial Systems:
· Oversee the maintenance of the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial data.
· Review and reconcile accounts, resolve discrepancies, and conduct periodic audits to ensure compliance.
· Collaborate with IT and finance teams to enhance financial systems, streamline processes, and improve efficiency.
Accounting Manager - Cash Management and Treasury:
· Manage cash flow and liquidity by monitoring cash balances, forecasting cash needs, and optimizing working capital.
· Implement effective cash management strategies, including cash flow projections, investments, and debt management.
· Oversee banking relationships, including bank reconciliations, account management, and negotiation of terms.
Accounting Manager - Financial Compliance and Internal Controls:
· Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory requirements.
· Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial data integrity.
· Coordinate external audits, prepare audit schedules, and liaise with auditors to facilitate the audit process.
· Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment, encouraging continuous learning and growth.
Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
· Proven experience as an Accounting Manager.
· Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards.
· Proficient in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting techniques.
· Advanced skills in MS Excel and accounting software applications (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
· Experience with inventory accounting and cost analysis.
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with strong attention to detail.
· Ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
· Understanding of retail-specific accounting practices, including sales tax reporting and vendor rebate programs.
· Familiarity with POS systems and their integration with accounting software is preferred.
