Work Arrangement:
This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Warren on a full-time basis.
The Role:
The primary purpose of this position is to respond to high-threat situations such as an active shooter or terrorist attack by employing tactical teamwork and the use of force necessary to protect people and contain or resolve the incident. The position reports to the Tactical Response Team Lead and operations are based out of Warren, MI but may also be assigned to other worksites and offsite locations typically in Southeast Michigan.
The Tactical Response Team is staffed 24 hours daily, 7-days per week and are scheduled by shifts. Successful candidates must have flexibility to work any shift including afternoons, midnights, weekends, and holidays.
What You’ll Do:
Preserve order and enforce security regulations and directives pertaining to the worksite, personnel and visitors
Respond to emergency incidents including, but not limited to, active shooter/assailant, violent or mentally ill subjects, medical situations and bomb threats
Assure compliance with applicable sections of the General Motors Global Security Manual and Standard Operating Procedures
Conduct foot and/or vehicle patrols to ensure the safety and security of the worksite
Observe, report and respond to incidents at assigned worksites
Protect property owned by General Motors, occupying tenants and site visitors
Control access to worksites through the admittance process; act to prevent unauthorized entry
Monitor site entrances and exits; and control the movement of people and vehicles
Secure incident and/or crime scenes and preserve evidence as required
Prepare incident reports, daily logs, etc., as directed
Monitor closed circuit television (CCTV) and other security alarm systems
Maintain a courteous and professional demeanor when interacting with General Motors personnel, visitors, and the public
Knowledge:
Working knowledge of security related protocols, including, but not limited to:
Emergency response and crisis management
Security technology (CCTV and alarm systems)
Law enforcement arrest powers (e.g. State of Michigan PA330)
Use-of-force continuum including de-escalation techniques
Firearms
Skills:
Ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism and a sustained state of vigilance
Ability to learn and retain security procedures
Be an effective team member and carry out instructions
Maintaining professional composure and ability to act decisively in high stress situations
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Capable of physically responding to all emergency situations and passing routine annual physical fitness test
Must qualify with a handgun, shotgun and tactical carbine in accordance with Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES) active duty firearms standard
Interacting effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures
Using less than lethal means/equipment (e.g. taser, pepper-spray, etc.)
Experience/Education:
High School Diploma
Current or former U.S. law enforcement officer (sworn or PA330) with a minimum of five years of experience
Maintain a Concealed Pistol License (CPL) or Law Enforcement Officer Safety Act (LEOSA)
Must pass a criminal history check, background investigation, psychological examination, medical screening, annual physical fitness testing and random drug testing
Maintain any applicable licensing requirements for security officers
Maintain basic first aid and CPR certifications
Current State of Michigan Emergency Medical Technician (preferred)
Served on a tactical team (preferred)

Compensation:
The expected base compensation for this role is $75,000 USD Annually.
Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
Relocation:
This job is not eligible for relocation benefits. Any relocation costs would be the responsibility of the selected candidate.
