Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Project Manager to join our team and oversee various projects in physical and technological security for various organizations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating with vendors, ensuring timely project completion, and effectively communicating with clients and stakeholders. This role requires a combination of fieldwork and office-based responsibilities, with an emphasis on project management, client interaction, and grant assistance. Position will be overseen by a Senior Project Manager who will also be training and familiarizing you with the job duties and responsibilities. No previous security or grant experience is required.
Construction project management experience is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
A typical day on the field would be comprised of: (i) meeting a door vendor at a location to review a main entrance renovation, (ii) meeting a second vendor at a new location nearby to go over a camera installation project, (iii) answering emails from clients and vendors who are part of the on going projects, (iv) taking photos and generating status updates on ongoing projects.
Coordinate and Lead Project Activities: Manage and lead on-location walkthroughs, coordinating with vendors to discuss project specifications and requirements. This includes approximately three days per week of fieldwork and two days per week of office-based work.
Design and Implement Security Measures: Create a prioritized list of security measures for both physical and technological security enhancements such as: doors, windows, cameras, access control, among others.
Conduct Security Audits: Perform thorough security audits to identify potential security vulnerabilities related to the site and its occupants.
Project Management: Develop comprehensive project plans detailing objectives, funding, schedules, and staff assignments. Monitor project milestones and deliverables, propose modifications to project plans as necessary.
Budget and Schedule Management: Monitor project costs to stay within budget. Schedule and oversee project execution by third party contractors, to ensure projects are completed in a timely manner.
Communication and Stakeholder Management: Communicate project statuses and updates to clients, stakeholders, and project staff. Liaise with vendors regarding project specifications and ensure alignment with security measures.
Documentation and Compliance: Support grant drafting and filing during peak grant seasons (NYS and FEMA grants) and document information related to legal proceedings.
Qualifications & Skills
Project Management Experience: Preferably 1-2 years of relevant experience in project management, working with, or as, a general contractor, site operations or facilities management.
Technical Proficiency: Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel (or G-suite, slides, mail, sheets), experience with project management software and methods is a plus.
Strong Communication Skills: Proficient in English, both written and verbal, with the ability to draft project plans, review proposals, compose extensive emails, and assess grant applications accurately.
Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time and create solutions for potential challenges that come up during project execution.
Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills and the ability to establish guidelines, policies, and standards to ensure the smooth operation of security projects.
Salary: $70,000 - $75,000 (depending on experience)
