Responsibilities:

• Support the school counseling department in providing academic, post-secondary planning, and social-emotional support to students.
• Help students achieve personal fulfillment by providing guidance and counseling services for successful personal, educational, and life plans.
• Provide direct assistance to students in evaluating their aptitudes and abilities using various methods including teacher input and standardized test scores.
• Collaborate with the child study team, anti-bullying team, intervention team, and registrar to facilitate planning for all students and programs.
• Assist in providing smooth transitions between grades and schools, including orientation programming for students and parents.
• Facilitate district programs by supporting student choices and implementing assemblies and classroom lessons.
• Assist in developing the master schedule and managing the scheduling process with the Counseling Team and administration.
• Implement state testing with the testing team, including scheduling, management, and tracking of graduation requirements and assessments.

Qualifications:

• CEAS or Standard Certificate: School Counselor (2702)
• Experience in counseling preferred.
• Experience in school testing coordination preferred.
• Experience in Naviance preferred.
• Broad knowledge of testing and evaluation, individual and group guidance techniques, school guidance program design, and career educational information and placement preferred.
• Understanding of the laws guiding confidentiality for students in the public school counseling program.
