Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Quality Control Lead, Retouching to join our Photo Production team. The Quality Control Lead, Retouching will be responsible for editing and enhancing on-figure and still life photography and digital assets for multiple brands under the United Legwear licensing partnership. This role plays a critical part in ensuring consistency, quality, and alignment with brand guidelines across all deliverables. Reporting directly to the Art Director, the Retoucher will collaborate closely with the Photo Production team to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, creative environment.

Essential Functions (Including but not limited to)
  • Retouch both still-life and on-figure images for projects, but not limited to ecommerce photography, packaging, look books, digital marketing projects, and campaigns to meet the highest standards of quality and brand alignment.
  • Perform color correction, exposure adjustments, and other image enhancements to best match samples.
  • Adhere to and uphold the Art Director’s vision, ensuring all retouching meet brand and licensing standards.
  • Collaborate with Art Director in managing projects to outside vendors to ensure quality and deadlines.
  • Review assets from several outsourced teams to ensure color accuracy and consistency from image to image.
  • Compose image compositing, and background adjustments for multiple brand style guidelines.
  • Oversee printing of in-house proofs and color output files before going to press.
  • Collaborate with Studio Director on implementing file naming, metadata requirements during and after shoot projects.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Creative teams to execute feedback promptly and maintain workflow efficiency.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks to meet tight deadlines.
  • Research and implement new color technologies; stay current with industry advancements.
Asset Management:
  • Organize, categorize, and maintain a digital asset library.
  • Ensure proper file naming conventions and metadata standards.
  • Manage pre/post-production of images from outside photographers and retouchers.
Quality Assurance:
  • Conduct quality checks on retouched images to ensure they meet the required standards.
  • Assist managing and communicate with outside retouching vendors.
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in photo retouching and asset management.
Collaboration and Communication:
  • Work closely with photographers, designers, and marketing teams to understand project requirements.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations to improve image quality and workflow efficiency.
Ensure timely delivery of retouched images and assets for various projects.

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a photo retoucher and asset manager.
  • Minimum 4+ years of experience retouching in a high volume, deadline-driven production environment.
  • Strong knowledge of image manipulation, retouching techniques, and digital asset workflows.
  • Technical knowledge of color profiles, color conversions for various color spaces, and screen calibration software.
  • Expertise on fabric textures and patterns.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Capture One Pro, and proficient in MS Office.
  • Familiarity with file management systems and digital asset management platforms is a plus; Monday, Creative Force and Bynder.
  • Excellent time management, organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects.
  • Strong ability to adapt to evolving priorities and work independently in a deadline-driven environment.
Fashion industry experience is preferred.
