The University of Miami UHealth – Department of Radiology - at SoLé Mia has an exciting opportunity for a full time MRI Technologist 2. The MRI Technologist 2 performs intricate procedures in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) through the operations of radiographic equipment to obtain highest quality of diagnostic images. Independent judgement, ingenuity and initiative are essential in addition to responsibility for designated areas, procedures and equipment. Moreover, an employee in this position performs diagnostic imaging examinations to facilitate the ability of physicians, radiologic technologists, and supervisors to find abnormalities and make a proper diagnosis. Core job functions include coordinating scheduling and patient flow for interdepartmental procedures, performing diagnostic imaging studies under the direction/supervision of a radiologist, assisting with the education and training of new physicians, assisting radiologists and PhD's in developing new protocols and Ultrasound imaging techniques unique to the facility, assisting in research initiatives and development of research protocols, monitoring charging of Ultrasound procedures and supplies daily, demonstrating Ultrasound equipment for site visits, ensuring orders are appropriate to the type of exam recommended by physician, verifying patient ID, obtaining necessary consents and education, performing specialized tasks associated with MRI scanners and related equipment under safety procedures, integrating diagnostic, laboratory results, patient history and medical records, adhering to MRI protocols and regulatory guidelines, assisting positioning patients, maintaining aseptic technique, assisting radiologist with imaging procedures including starting IV's and injecting contrast, evaluating MRI scans for technical quality, and adhering to University policies and safeguarding assets. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology/Diagnostic Imaging Program, a valid State of Florida License as a General Radiographer, ARRT registration with certification in primary modality, and a minimum of 3 years relevant experience. Skills include accuracy, attention to detail, ability to analyze and prioritize work under pressure, discretion with confidential information, ability to work varied shifts, and commitment to University values.
