Maintenance Technician III

Location : Hazleton, PA

Shift: 3rd Shift (10:00 PM – 6:30 AM, must be available to work weekends)

Pay Rate : $34 - $35 /hour. With a $1.50 shift differential

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician III to join our team in Swedesboro, NJ. This cross-functional position plays a critical role in supporting complex electronic, electric, and pneumatic control systems and instrumentation across our facility. You will collaborate with multiple trades—including boiler mechanics, HVAC technicians, locksmiths, and plumbers—to troubleshoot, repair, and install a wide range of control and instrumentation systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, fabricate, and install electronic systems, instrumentation, and mechanical/electronic interfaces.
• Diagnose and correct issues in systems related to boilers, building access, automation, fire protection, elevators, time management, and energy measurement.
• Program and troubleshoot PLCs and microprocessor-based systems.
• Calibrate and recalibrate instruments to meet precision tolerances and manufacturer specifications.
• Rebuild and maintain instrumentation, including acquiring parts and tools as needed.
• Assist with data communications design and installations.
• Maintain accurate records of time, materials, and completed work; prepare reports per SOPs.
• Conduct inspections and recommend system upgrades or renovations.
• Use computers for communication, documentation, and work order management.
• Operate two-way radios and/or pagers to respond to routine and emergency maintenance needs.
• Ensure shop equipment is properly maintained and the work environment is clean and safe.
• Comply with all safety, legal, and quality requirements for the manufacturing process.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in instrumentation, control systems, electronics, or mechanical systems.
• Associate’s degree in Electronics or Process Instrumentation & Control preferred.
• Experience troubleshooting PLCs, I/O systems, and field devices in an industrial environment strongly preferred.
• Journeyman certification in instrumentation or ISA Certified Control Systems Technician (CCST) Level II may substitute for some educational requirements.
• Experience in a maintenance department within a highly automated food processing or manufacturing facility preferred.
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance practices, equipment functions, and PLC programming basics.
• Must be willing and able to work 3rd shift, including weekends.
