Job Description

Our respected banking client is actively seeking a Loan Operations Manager with a strong background in loan servicing and operations and a hands-on, collaborative leadership style. This role is responsible for guiding the Loan Operations team, managing daily servicing functions, and ensuring all operational activities meet regulatory requirements and internal standards. The ideal candidate brings both strategic insight and the willingness to roll up their sleeves, along with a deep understanding of loan servicing systems, operational efficiency, and team development.

Key Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience in loan servicing or operations
  • At least 2 years of management experience with proven leadership and decision-making capabilities
  • Demonstrated project management skills and the ability to drive process improvements
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Hands-on experience with loan systems such as LaserPro
  • Ability to prioritize and adapt in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Proven commitment to exceptional customer service, both internally and externally
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with all departments
  • A collaborative mindset and proactive approach to solving business challenges

Responsibilities:

Leadership & Daily Oversight

  • Supervise the Loan Operations team in the processing and servicing of commercial and consumer loans, including onboarding, modifications, renewals, and extensions
  • Serve as a working leader, stepping in to assist with loan processing during peak periods or complex situations
  • Set clear team objectives and performance expectations; evaluate and adjust workflows for efficiency and accuracy
  • Mentor and develop staff, identifying training opportunities and fostering cross-functional competencies

Loan Processing & Data Integrity

  • Oversee the accurate closing and documentation of various loan types, including participations and letters of credit
  • Maintain accuracy in system input, loan setup, payment schedules, and account maintenance
  • Monitor escrow analysis and ensure timely loan settlements and proper collateral documentation
  • Ensure the completion and review of post-closing documentation and address outstanding exceptions promptly

Compliance & Quality Control

  • Ensure all loan servicing operations are in compliance with applicable regulations (e.g., HMDA, flood insurance) and internal guidelines
  • Conduct secondary reviews of loan decisions for accuracy and consistency
  • Oversee UCC filings, insurance tracking, and credit dispute resolution via platforms such as e-Oscar
  • Maintain audit-ready processes and documentation

Process Improvement & Systems

  • Evaluate and recommend enhancements to workflows and loan servicing platforms
  • Develop and maintain procedural documentation to ensure team alignment and training consistency
  • Collaborate on bank-wide initiatives and special projects that support strategic growth

Financial Operations & Risk Management

  • Manage general ledger reconciliations and settlement accounts related to loan operations
  • Approve and process wire transfers for loan funding and settlements
  • Provide timely and accurate reporting for senior leadership and regulators

Team Culture & Development

  • Lead by example, promoting a culture of transparency, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and make recommendations regarding promotions, staffing, and development plans
  • Uphold the organization’s values and encourage a positive, high-performance team dynamic

Governance & Compliance

  • Stay current on all relevant bank policies and state/federal regulations
  • Ensure full compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act, internal security policies, and privacy standards
  • Complete all required compliance and regulatory training annually
