Our client is a thriving Christian Accounting and Financial Services company dedicated to providing exceptional services to non-profit organizations, churches, and impact-driven companies. They are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Accounting and Bookkeeping to lead and expand their financial processes and team members. This role would be responsible for leading the bookkeeping, payroll, spend management, and bill pay departments. As this role is client facing- the candidate for this role will enjoy building and developing client relationships; especially for those of churches and/or non-profit organizations.

Job Summary:

In this role- you will lead Accounting and Bookkeeping departments and lead the team members within those divisions. If expanding efficiencies in financial systems and managing financial processes and teams is what energizes you- this opportunity would be a great fit!

Our client’s company is growing rapidly, and this role extends beyond traditional management, encompassing responsibilities that include leadership, process management, budgeting and financial systems management.

Key Responsibilities:

● Develop and implement strategies to optimize the financial systems and financial services in alignment with business goals and client needs.

● Analyze bookkeeping; payroll; spend management and bill pay processes to accurately forecast resource requirements and anticipate staffing needs.

● Build and maintain client relationships who work closely with the company- and identify opportunities for new business.

● Lead the development and implementation of tools, processes, and systems to track and manage resource allocation. Provide guidance to team members in the bookkeeping and accounting divisions.

● Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to labor utilization, capacity utilization, and resource allocation, and proactively address any deviations from targets.

Qualifications:

● MUST HAVE direct experience working with Church Accounting or Finance.

● Proven experience in financial management, GAAP analysis; budget and cash flow management, preferably for a large non-profit or church organization.

● Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or related field, OR equivalent experience. Having a CPA is not required but is ideal.

● Experience managing Bookkeepers and/or Accountants, and financial/ operations team members and providing guidance as needed.

● Exceptional leadership and communication skills, especially in building and maintaining client relationships.

● Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including advanced Excel skills; experience with workforce management software is a plus. Experience with bill pay / accounting software such as QuickBooks; Bill.com; Xero.com; etc.
